The workshop will develop the debate about technoscientific controversies through the case of public debate about smart meters. The workshop will host David Hess (Vanderbilt University, USA) and other international scholars. The main focus in the discussion will be the relationship between institutional action, grassroots movements and media representations in the social construction of technoscientific controverversies in a comparative perspective.
