Simone Arnaldi (PhD Social Sciences) is postdoctoral research fellow at the Department of Philosophy, Sociology, Pedagogy and Applied Psychology (FISPPA) of Padova University and collaborates with the Centre on environmental, ethical, legal and social decisions on emerging technologies (CIGA) in the same university.

His main interests centre on the links between technology discourse, social order and social change. His research focuses on developing a social theory of responsibility and on investigating empirically how responsible innovation arrangements and policies are constructed in technological discourse and in organizations at the boundaries of science, politics and the market.

Simone has joined various international research projects on the responsible governance of science and technology and its related issues, such as Epoch, Keen-Regions, Res-Agora, Synenergene, all funded by the EU Seventh Framework Programme. He is now Research Associate in the project RRI Practice – Responsible Research and Innovation in Practice, funded by Horizon 2020. He is the scientific coordinator of the project “Responsibility and Human Enhancement”, funded by the Independent Social Research Foundation (ISRF). He was visiting scholar at the Institute of Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) with the support of the German Academic Exchange Program. Simone is a member of the Editorial Board of “Futures. The journal of policy, planning and futures studies” and “Mundo Nano. Revista Interdisciplinaria en Nanociencias y Nanotecnología”.
